I’m sure most of us heard about the Orphan Works Act of 2008. In short if this bill goes through, it creates a one big loophole which makes all artist’s work to be used without artist’s consent, as long as they “try” to find the creator/artist of the artwork.

More in-depth run down of the bill at Antrese.net & lessig.org. [via zefrank] Also Tom Richmond’s break down of the bill/act. [via Journalista. ]

And how you can send a message to your congressperson with an easy form here at the Legislative Action center. [via welcome friend or foe blog ]

So... I'll post what I can remember.(and like my usual posts... no one will understand but me ^^;; because of my stream of consciousness writing method and etc).

It was my first time being at SPX and I like it. I liked Washington,DC...or rather Rockville/North Bethesda area. ^^ I wouldn't mind moving there ... but alas... I'll probably end up moving back home... in dallas.... but this post is not about that.

So SPX...

First I have to thank Jim for introducing me to alot of people and help me sell out my comic (first time I actually.. like.. sold out my zine o.o... it felt great.. and less luggage... but I bought more comic.. so my luggage weight remained same). Thanks again. And to those who I have met and I just stood there just ogling and smiling.. sorry about that. I should also say sorry to those people who recognized me and where I just stood frozen for a min in awkwardness. (I tend to do that when people I haven't met walk up to me .. and know my name.... of course I had a name tag around my neck but ^^;; It still throws me off guard). I'm not so social ^^;;... I never been social.. it's weird for me. I would rather be the guy at the corner looking at my surrounding rather than being the participant ^^;;... yeah.. weird eh.... I didn't have the guts to go up and talk to all the artist and people that I admire and liked. When I did it was fanboy-dom at max. I just stood there smiling and waving "hi" being coy and shy when Becky Cloonan was near ^^;;.. I didn't have the courage to go up to talk to many people behind the booth either hehe.. I was just like a cold fan who just bought comics ^^;.
